The Little Joys in Life

Vinny, like I've mentioned before, doesn't crawl. But, he's able to enjoy a newspaper as much as anyone. Until he can't reach the pieces anymore.

However, he has had other developmental strides: he now has 6 teeth (2 on top & 4 on the bottom), he loves to eat!, and he does the Baby Sign for "more" while he eats. He understands the words nurse, more, clap, etc. He can clap, especially after someone else does. He'll put the shapes in the holes in one of our shape sorter buckets (not the right hole, of course). We've started reading to him as part of the go to sleep routine & he loves it. He smiles at the pictures of Dora and helps to turn the pages. He can fall asleep on his own. He takes 2 naps -- morning & afternoon. He can say: kuh, guh, ta-ta, da, etc. And, he's getting very loud! Overall, he is quite a joy!

And, Ashley is getting closer to a 4 year old everyday. She is having a great time at preschool (Tues-Wed-Thurs), and coming home with lots of new things to say. Grown-up things like, "While I'm in the bath, Daddy will return home." Just testing out some new grammar techniques. :) And, once I asked her about the sticker on her arm, which she had picked out from the treasure box. If you've stayed on green for the whole week, you get to pick out a prize. However, "Chloe did not get a sticker." Why, Ashley? "She did not stay on green. She went to yellow." Oh, no.

Here's Ashley being the big helper to Daddy to put together a new configuration of railroad tracks. "Bring me a short, curved piece, Ashley!"
