I'm not really sure who all reads this blog . . . maybe there are even readers whom I've never met. Consider it a sign, perhaps. ;) But, I want to share something.
If you have been away from the Catholic Church for a long time, a short time, or feel that the Church has left you, this is a quiet, sincere invitation to you to give it a try again, or maybe for the first time. Being Catholic isn't about an obligatory meeting every Sunday morning or a set of rules to follow or a list of prayers to rattle off. It's about being in relationship with someone. Someone who created the entire universe. Someone who fashioned every ounce of each one of us. Someone who loves us more than we can imagine. Being Catholic is about receiving that Someone, receiving the gift that's for each one of us.
One day, we will meet that Someone, face to face, and one of the mysteries of life is that we don't know when our life here will end. But, each of us can be confident that it will.
You may have heard the verses about the parts of the body -- we are many parts, but we're all one body. If you've been away from the Church, that means it's missing body parts -- maybe you're the eyes that can see or the voice who can sing, the hands that can build or the feet that can go. We aren't complete until we're all one. In the One.
So, please take a minute and watch this little clip. I miss you very much. And, Someone else misses you even more.
You can also visit: Catholics Come Home Georgia or the national Catholics Come Home for more information or local parish information.
PS -- By the way, there's no need to feel awkward in the church, since you're surrounded by fellow sinners, great ones & small alike!!!
