The Why's & How's

Okay, so our next phase is beginning . . . A couple of days ago, from the backseat comes a barrage of "Why?" 's:
Mommy: Okay, Ashley we're on our way home.
Ashley: Why?
Mommy: Because we're hungry and it's time for lunch.
Ashley: Why?
Mommy: Because it's been a little while since we ate & our tummies are empty.
Ashley: Why we hungry?
Ashley: Why we hungry?
Ashley: Why we hungry?

Then, for the rest of the day, about a dozen other Why? questions came . . . it is amazing how Ashley is turning into a little girl more and more.

Sometimes Ashley does not stay in her room at naptime or bedtime. So, we send her back in. We tried a new strategy recently where we set up an alarm clock to go off when her naptime can be over (if she hasn't fallen asleep). So, one night, after an attempt at coming out, Nick told her that she couldn't come out until it said "7" on the clock. As in a.m. It was 8:05. 2 minutes later she comes out, and Nick was like, "Why did you come out?" Of course. It was 8:07.

One final story . . . We were driving past the church the other day, and Ashley says, "There's St. Michael's Church." Then, she says, "Gammpa is St. Michael." (My dad's name is Michael.) Hmmmm . . . maybe one day.
